Obituary for Gene Atchley
Howard Gene Atchley 68, of Union Mills passed away on July 29, 2020 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Gene was the son of the late Charles and Olema Baynard Atchley. He was also preceded in death by a brother Stevie Atchley.
Gene was an active member of Piney Knob Baptist Church where he taught the Senior Sunday School Class. He worked in the furniture industry for years as a chemical salesman. Gene loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda, daughter Ginger and husband Shane Turner, son Jeremy and wife Rachel. Gene also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Dakota Turner and wife Kendra, Dylan Turner, Steven Atchley, Sydney Atchley, Mackenzie Atchley and expected great grandson Krew Turner.
A memorial service will be held on Monday August 3, 2020 at 11AM in the Piney Knob Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Brown, Rev. Wayne Stafford and Rev. Leroy Bridges officiating.
