Obituary for Edith Elizabeth Street (Browning)
Edith B. Street passed away December 29, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by three children Linda S. Hollingsworth and husband Luther of Asheboro, NC, Mike Street and wife Mary of Danieltown NC, Kathy S. Crowder and husband Paul of Ellenboro, NC, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren: Kevin & Jennifer Street and their children: Ashley, Luke, Trevor, Toby, LinleyRae and Dallas of Rutherfordton, NC. Connie Street of Belmont, NC, Kyliegh & Robert Kite and their children Justin, Ian and Aaron of Mooresboro, NC, Jerry & Tara Crowder and their children Ryan & Molly of Ellenboro, and Sarah Hollingsworth of Morrisville, NC. Edith is also survived by seven siblings: Paul Browning of Morganton, NC, Elbert Browning and Jerome Browning of Nebo; Frances Patton, Harriett Smith, Wilburn Browning and Archie Browning all of Morganton, NC.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Ray Street and siblings Frank Browning and Margaret Champion.
Edith worked for Rutherford County Schools in the cafeteria and thought of all the students and teachers as family. She loved fishing with her husband, bluegrass music, and flowers. Edith will be missed by all those who loved her.
The family wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary care provided by Anna Baker Sane, FNP at Rutherford Internal Medicine & Specialty Care throughout her illness and to Hospice of the Carolinas for their most recent support.
The family will receive friends at Crowe’s Mortuary on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 am. The funeral will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. The burial will be private.
