Earl Heath Lane age 88 passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Abner Robert Lane and Lillie Elmore Lane and was a retired car dealer. He also worked as a supervisor for a number of years at Stonecutter Mills. Earl was a member of Second Baptist Church, Rutherfordton NC, Western Star Masonic Lodge #91 and was a Shriner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Harris Lane and three siblings, Kathleen Lane, Ruth Wesse, and Johnny Lane. He is survived by one daughter, Cathy Crawford and her husband Greg; one grandson Taber Hyde and his wife Nicole; six siblings, Lois Condrey, JoAnne Epley, Ruby Crowder, Glenna Warlick, Rebecca Kanipe and Gail Culbreth. A celebration of life will be held 3:30 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Second Baptist Church, 191 Green Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Dr. Keith Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043.
