Obituary for Dennis Howard Toney

Dennis Toney, age 84 of Henderson Care Circle passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 while being cared for by Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
A native of Rutherford County, Dennis was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton, NC and worked as an interior decorator and fashion designer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Wray Toney; parents Clarence and Odessa Cumi Mull Toney; two brothers, Robert Toney and Wade Toney; three sisters, Catherine Melton, Carolynn Scruggs and Shirley Toney.
Dennis is survived by one sister, Vivian Champion and her husband John; one brother, Ben Toney and his wife Ann; a number of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Rutherfordton First United Methodist Church with Dr. In-Yong Lee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
