Roy Dean Johnson, age 86, of 188 Sunbelt Ct. Rutherfordton died Friday at his home. Dean was a native of Lancaster, SC, widower of Violet Brown Johnson, son of the late Roy and Myrtle Hill Johnson, a retired textile employee and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Navy.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Annette Cooper (Trevor), Myra Brown, Ann Guffey and Joey Johnson (Ginger); sisters Gilda Sims, Brenda Mathis, Betty Patterson and Gail Swafford; 10 Grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 PM Sunday at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Dylan Lewis officiating.
