Obituary for Buzz Kircher

Clement “Buzz” Tomlin Kircher II, 83, passed away April 29, 2022 after a brief stay in hospice near Lake Lure, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen, and his sister Marian Schmickle, 86, of Allentown, PA, dear nephew William Schmickle, along with many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul F. and Gladys Kircher, brother Paul Jr., and sister Nancy Priestly.

Buzz grew up in Philadelphia, PA and its new suburbs. He was in the first graduating class of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, Plymouth Meeting, PA, in 1956. He served in the US Air Force for three years as a jet mechanic both in Okinawa and New Hampshire. He attended Penn State and Temple Universities.

In his early years Buzz worked for several companies in the brand new microchip industry, His work included Quality Control and the development of the first home computer, “The Commodore”. In 1980 Buzz started a Wholesale Printing Company producing raised letter business cards and stationery, with a remarkable 24 hour turnaround. From PA he and Karen retired to Lake Lure, NC in 1997.

Buzz was an empathetic and sensitive gentleman, avid sportsman, and scratch golfer. He was a Jazz aficionado, hand feeder of Deer, and popular with Crows on his mountainside deck. Buzz is revered and loved by all who were lucky enough to know him. Renowned for his wit and humor, he’s long been fondly known as “Jay Leno’s Comedy Writer.” We know with absolute certainty that he is entertaining All in Heaven.

Inurnment will be at The Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick PA.
