Obituary for Betty Lou McKinney (Hartman)
Betty Lou Hartman McKinney, 76, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away on July 18, 2022 at the home of her youngest daughter.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She went above and beyond to keep her family happy. She loved to garden, watch westerns and eat snack cakes.
Betty worked in textiles a majority of her life, once she retired she spent all of her time with her family. She was devoted to her family and her pets (Bullet, Bella, and Luna). Anyone who knew Betty knew she had a tough exterior but was so full of love and care for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carson Lee McKinney; parents, Blanche and Marthell Hartman; and sister, Margaret Willis.
She is survived by her two daughters; Dorothy (Glen), and Billie (Daniel), her two sisters; Jeanette and Martha (Tim), brother; Darrell (Bernadine), and her honorary son; Brent (Vicki). She was a proud grandmother to Randy, Amanda (Larry), Rebecca (Derek), Melissa (Roger), Sarah, and Tatum. She was graced with 6 great-grandchildren Earl, Joyce, Cheyenne, Payton, Jaycee, and Ariah, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Despite her family wishing she was still here with us we know her soul is finally reunited with her husband and she is at peace.
No services will be held. The family will be holding a celebration of life at Billie's home on Friday July 22nd.
