Obituary for Aletha Dalleen Craven (Cravens)

Aletha Craven, age 94 formerly of Lake Lure, NC went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 31, 2022.
Aletha was born in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma and was a retired real estate agent. She is a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a former member of Bills Creek Baptist Church where she retired as the church pianist after some 20 years of service. Aletha was a kind and loving wife and mother, as well as a caring friend to all that knew her. Her uplifting spirit and positive attitude were daily examples of her strong Christian faith.
She is survived by two sons, John Craven and wife Ann; Tracy Joe Craven, Jr. and wife Cathy; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Aletha was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Tracy Joe Craven, Sr. as well as her parents, James Joseph and Jewel Freda Eck Cravens.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Dr. Scott Courtney officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Crowe’s Mortuary, 118 College Ave., Rutherfordton NC 28139. Concluding services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1565 Oakland Road, Forest City NC 28043.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bills Creek Fire Department 1184 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
