Al Evans Jr.
Alec “Al” Stenson Evans Jr., age 73, husband of Vickie Evans of Union Mills passed away Monday at CarePartners in Asheville. Al was a native of Cobb County Georgia and a retired police officer for the city of Atlanta and served our country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a sniper with the 5th Rangers Wolfpack, received a Purple Heart and numerous other honors for his service. He continued his support of his brothers in arms with his participation in the Patriot Guard, Rolling Thunder, Sons of Liberty and Wounded Warriors.
In addition to his wife Vickie he leaves to cherish his memory his children Angela (Angie) Cope, Eric Evans and Carter Evans; step children Matthew, Keith, LeeAnn and Crisey King along with a number of grandchildren.
A celebration of Al’s life will be conducted at 11 AM Monday April 11, 2022 at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Curtis Lane will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Boiling Springs SC American Legion and the Patriot Guard.
