Obituary for Earl Clarence Arrowood

Earl Clarence  Arrowood
Earl Clarence Arrowood, 91, of Union Mills, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hickory Village in Hickory. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Samuel Clarence and Lula Minniebelle Melton Arrowood. Earl was a retired construction foreman and enjoyed playing and singing bluegrass music. Earl was a US Navy veteran of WWII.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Karen Gibbs and Joan (Johnny) Dowdle of Union Mills and Earleen (Joel) Aderhold of Loganville, GA; grandchildren Johnny Dowdle of Rutherfordton, Maggie (Brian) Stephens of Monroe, GA, Adam (Elizabeth) Aderhold of Monroe, GA, Deborah Dowdle of Rutherfordton, Sherry (Gary) Clubb of Rutherfordton, and Tammy (Houston) Boggs of Union Mills; eight great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Holland of Kinston, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florree Rumfelt Arrowood, and siblings, Mason Arrowood, Sylvia Parton, Chalmer Arrowood, Hoyle Arrowood, Lucille Rollins, Reba Pruitt, C.B. Arrowood and Velvie Frady.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, May 18 at Crowe’s Chapel. Military Honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Crowe’s Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
