Marilyn Snyder Duncan
Marilyn Snyder Duncan, 76, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Annie Mae Melton Snyder. Marilyn was a homemaker and a member of 2nd Baptist Church. She led a busy life raising 3 children with whom she traveled to many places due to being married to a husband who made the Air Force a career for many years. She married the love of her life, James Daniel Duncan Sr. (Dan) in 1958, and they were married 57 years before he preceded her in death in 2016.
Cherishing her memory include her daughter, Danette Brewer and husband David of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Clint Hutchins Chad Hutchins and wife Amber, Jason Johnson and wife Jessica, Holly Johnson abd two granddaughters that she and Dan raised, Rachel Atchley and husband Jeremy, and Rebecca Sain and husband Travis; fifteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Duncan Sr., son, James Daniel “Danny " Duncan Jr., daughter, Patricia Ann Mendoza; two sisters Judy Searcy and Inez Hames; four brothers Norman Snyder Jr., Ralph Snyder, Jack Snyder and Donald Snyder.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 2nd Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Stephenson and Dr. Don McEntire officiating. Interment will follow at Will follow in Wilson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family gives Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home their greatest and warmest gratitude for the loving care they provided for Marilyn during her last few months.
