Condolence: You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. My heart breaks for you all in this devastating loss. My mother, Ann Deviney, has always talked so highly of Dr. McCluney, and her days of teaching with him. She has also spoken so highly of teaching both Jeremiah and Alice in 2nd grade. I have also loved getting to know your sweet daughter Miah the past few years. Justin and Jennifer, Kelsey, Sawyer, and Elizabeth, I love you all. What a wonderful legacy Dr. McCluney left with each of you!

Condolence: Few people have the ability to leave a lifelong, lasting impact in the lives and hearts of others; Dr. McCluney was one of these rare individuals. I will never forget his lunchtime etiquette lessons, many hours spent teaching me the art of chess, or most importantly his encouragement and support in my academic career from his years of being my elementary principle to remaining involved even well beyond my college graduation. He always referred to my sister and I as "his girls" even long after we had children of our own. He was a beautiful soul who will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to the family.

Condolence: I am saddened by your loss. Dr. McCluney was a great Principal and educator. I was delighted to work with the Chess program that he brought to students at Mt. Vernon Ruth Elementary and to the county. He was able to instill a lifelong love of the game with a whole generation of Rutherford County students. He will be greatly missed by our school and the entire community.

Condolence: I have loved living beside of and working for Mr. McCluney for the last several years. He taught me a lot and I always enjoyed helping him and going places with him. My favorite hat is one I got when we went to pick up a tractor. Because of him, his love of cows and all he taught me I have decided to be a cow farmer and am happy I got to tell him that.
