Obituary for Florence Modene Vess (Roberts)
Modene Roberts Millard Vess age 89 passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Fair Haven of Forest City, NC.
Modene is a graduate of R.S. Central High School, graduate of The Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing, a member of First Baptist Church of Forest City, member of The Love Circle Sunday School Class, charter member of The Thermal Belt Model A Club and was retired from White Oak Manor after working there for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father Charlie C. Roberts, Sr., mother Pollie Huntley Roberts, first husband Charles Millard, second husband Huntley Vess, son Jerry Millard, sisters Ruth Schmitt, Dee MacDonald, Gladys Morgan, twin sister Delene Robertson, and brother C. C. Roberts, Jr.
She is survived by her grandson Andy Millard and his wife Stacey, one great grandson Will Millard, one great granddaughter Emma Millard and a number of other family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 – 3 PM Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
