Dorothy ""Dot"" Overcash
Dorothy Wray Overcash, age 86, widow of Marvin Overcash of 177 Fernwood Drive Rutherfordton passed away Saturday March 25, 2017 at Hospice House in Forest City. Dorothy was a native of Rutherford County, a member of First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton and was the daughter of the late Charles Miller Wray and Jennie Atchley Wray and sister of the late Janet Toney. Education was an important part of Dorothy’s life, having served as a school teacher in Rutherford County for 39 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Thad Overcash and wife Meloney of Rutherfordton, brother in law Dennis Toney of Rutherfordton and a niece Sylvia Campbell and husband Gary..
A service to honor the life of Dorothy Wray Overcash will be held 4 PM Tuesday at First United Methodist Church Rutherfordton with the Rev. Sydnor Thompson III officiating. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM prior to the service.
